DERMOND × SARNSARD Redefines Responsible Luxury Through the Value of Thai Craftsmanship, Elevating Local Artistry to the Global Stage Under the Concept “Crafted in Thai, Globally Inspired”

Today, Dermond opens another important chapter in its journey through a collaboration with Sarnsard, a contemporary craft studio from Trang province, bringing to life the wisdom of Pandanus weaving — a local plant material woven anew as a “science of weaving” — through an Installation Art piece and the Collaboration Collection: Woven To Go Jewelry Pouch, a portable jewelry pouch.
This exhibition reflects Dermond’s vision of championing local craftsmanship for recognition on the international stage, creating a dialogue between the art of fine jewelry and local wisdom through a fresh perspective on luxury craftsmanship. For Dermond, everything begins with “the hands of the craftsman” — every facet cut, every setting formed, and every step of creation is the result of experience, patience, and the heart of artisans who carry knowledge forward from generation to generation.
This same philosophy is what Dermond recognized in Sarnsard’s Pandanus weaving work. Though from different disciplines, both share the same values: delicacy, precision, and a beauty of craftsmanship that no machine can replicate. Ultimately, craftsmanship is the universal language of luxury that needs no explanation.
This collaboration began with a reinterpretation of the earrings from Dermond’s Signature Chic Collection 2025 — one of the standout pieces admired for its distinctive lines, long beloved by both Thai and international clients. Sarnsard’s design studio took the lines and forms of the jewelry piece and developed them into an Installation Art work, woven from Pandanus leaves, the brand’s core natural material, reinforced with a metal structural technique to achieve a sculptural form. The surface was finished to enhance light reflection, evoking the sparkle of a diamond shining from every angle. The collaboration further extends to the DERMOND × SARNSARD Woven To Go Jewelry Pouch, a Limited Collaboration piece that merges local weaving craft with fine jewelry brand details, reflecting the meeting of two worlds of craftsmanship.
The collaboration with Sarnsard is not only about creating a new outcome, but about generating shared value between business, community, and society — reflecting a business approach aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For Dermond, sustainability is not merely a trend but a philosophy of mutual growth: supporting income generation and employment for local artisans, promoting responsible use of natural materials, valuing craftsmanship made for sustainable use, and preserving local wisdom while passing cultural heritage on to the next generation, in partnership with Sarnsard.

The event also featured a special panel discussion, “Crafted in Thai, Globally Inspired,” with perspectives shared by Siraphat Pipatweerawat (Creative Director, Dermond), Wisarut Taweewornsuwan (Co-Founder, Sarnsard), moderated by Dr. Sitthichai Parinyanusorn (Deputy Executive Director of Business Affairs) from the Gem and Jewelry Institute of Thailand, along with Manas Sonyudthasenee, Mrs. Globe 2022, who shared insights on how design bridges art, craftsmanship, business, and sustainability — inspiring emerging designers, students, and those who believe in the far-reaching power of Thai craftsmanship. The event was held at the meaningful venue of ECOTOPIA, reaffirming its role as a Sustainable Living Platform under NEXTOPIA — a space of inspiration bringing together people, creativity, innovation, and sustainable living concepts in one place. The event was graced by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Singh Intrachooto, Chief of Nextopia, and Kansiri Vichuvivat, Executive of Discovery Retail Group and Ecotopia.
