Hashiri’s Japanese Odyssey travels to the south with a Kagoshima menu
Reimagined regional flavors, artfully blended with modern fusion inspirations, rotating throughout 2025 at The Athenee Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Bangkok

Chef Alvin Chew’s odyssey through the different regions of Japan takes us next to Kagoshima, on the southwest tip of the island of Kyushu and the Ryukyu Islands, where the cuisine has developed in a distinctive manner through its hot climate, fertile volcanic soil, and location on a wide bay.

Hashiri’s second edition of this Japanese journey features a menu with five Kagoshima specialties and is available for lunch and dinner every day from 1 May to 30 June, except for Tuesdays, when the restaurant is closed.

Kagoshima Wagyu and Hamachi are both prized for their exceptional quality and flavor. On the à la carte menu are Kagoshima Hamachi Nigiri, smoked over 100-year-old Cedar Wood that deepens the umami and aroma, and a Hamachi Maki roll. Wagyu Oxtail and bone marrow is served with fried rice. A4 Wagyu is prepared in what the Japanese describe as the three kings style, served as sashimi with Bafun Uni, Avruga Caviar and A4 Wagyu Sando to create an ultra-luxurious Japanese style sandwich.
Prices start from THB 250++. Lunch is served from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM, and dinner from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Marriott Bonvoy members receive a 10% discount, and Club Marriott members 30% discount.
